Job Title: Staff Child Psychiatrist Provider Type: Physician Specialty: Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Location: Near Detroit, MIBenefits: Long-tern contracts Competitive compensation Travel-related expenses covered Medical malpractice insurance provided We are looking for a skilled psychiatrist to conduct initial psychiatric assessments for patients upon admission, following established protocols. The role includes providing medication management, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and conducting follow-up assessments and annual summaries. The psychiatrist will offer clinical supervision of behavior treatment plans, participate in case reviews, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans. Clinical leadership is essential, guiding the team on psychiatric care, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR), and participating in discharge planning. Additional responsibilities include screening patients for admission, providing court testimony when necessary, and offering direct academic supervision to psychiatry residents, child psychiatry residents, and students from other disciplines. The role also involves participating in performance improvement activities and peer reviews. The psychiatrist will perform other duties in line with their scope of practice, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulations. Skills
Qualifications:A medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school of medicine and Board Certified or Board Eligible. One year experience as a pediatric psychiatrist in a mental health clinic, correctional facility, or inpatient psychiatric hospital. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and the treatment team. Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment. A valid Michigan license DEA license to prescribe controlled substances. Must possess a Michigan Controlled Substance License.
