NP / Surgery - Cardiovascular / Pennsylvania / Locum tenens / Cardiac Surgery APP (NP/PA) - Locum Tenens Job

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for locum coverage in the Cardiac ICU. This high-priority role supports day and night shifts with a patient census of 6–10 in the CTICU. You will co-manage post-op cardiac surgery patients and provide critical care coverage overnight.

Requirements

• License: Active Pennsylvania license
• Certifications: ACLS, DEA
• Experience: Minimum 2 years (within last 3 years) in inpatient or critical care; 3+ preferred
• Procedures: Must perform central lines, radial arterial lines, airway management, and be proficient in ultrasound
• Education:
  • NP: Graduate of accredited CRNP program (ACNP, ACNPC-AG, or AGACNP certified)
  • PA: Graduate of an accredited PA program

Responsibilities:

• Rounding on Cardiac ICU patients
• Admissions and consults to cardiac surgery service
• Critical care management including:
  • Ventilator management
  • IABP/ECMO
  • Vasoactive medications
  • Management of arrhythmias and bleeding disorders
• Participate in clinical presentations and continuous quality improvement
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary team

• Privileges: Full privileges (allow 60 days for credentialing)
• Call: No outpatient call; night shift is in-house only
• Procedures Seen: CABG, AVR, MVR, ECMO, ascending aorta repair
• Support: Full range of specialists on-site
• Patient Population: 100% adult
