Description
? Practice inpatient internal medicine with an established, skilled and diverse group of internal medicine physicians ? Schedule is a 12 hour shifts, 25 weeks per year (with potential for additional shifts) o Day shift: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. ? Some night shifts required ? Six to seven hospitalists on each day shift and one to two on each night shift ? Average patient census is 16 – 18 patients per hospitalist per day ? Average admits and consults per day is 16-17 (average 4 per hospitalist) ? Night shift would be covering approximately 90 patients each night with an average of 8.5 admissions per night o 2nd hospitalist working a swing shift from 6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. to help with new admissions o Night call is approximately 1:10 with a goal to get to 1:14. Taken in 1 week blocks ? Trauma II hospital ? Physician led healthcare system ? Opportunity available due to growth and demand for hospitalist services ? Teaching opportunities available at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine located in Grand Forks ? Open ICU with coverage and procedures optional. Critical Care physicians available
