NP/PA Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient medical history
  • Measure/record physiologic and growth indices
  • Apply health promotion principles and techniques
  • Provides acute and chronic patient care including physicals, monitoring therapies, injections, minor office surgical procedures, and prescribing medications
  • Triage all patient calls and take appropriate action
  • Respond to medical emergencies by taking appropriate action
  • Practice in a manner that effectively maintains patient confidentiality
  • Review labs, diagnostic studies, and physical therapy progress notes
  • Accurately and completely record all pertinent information in the patient’s medical record

NP/PA Qualifications

  • Graduate degree as a Physician’s Assistant
  • Current state license
  • Current Controlled Dangerous Substances Permit or the ability to obtain one
  • Current DEA License or the ability to obtain one
  • Current BLS/ACLS registration
  • Able to stand, walk or sit for an extended period of time
  • Abie to help transfer patients
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Use problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Use interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with others in and outside of work
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must have knowledge of basic principles of Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Must be versatile with the ability to perform a wide variety of duties, tasks and assignments
  • Considerable knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling and arithmetic
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be willing to travel
