Hospital Employed Non-Invasive Cardiology opportunity with Heart and Vascular Group.

Cardiac Laboratory:
Cardiac Lab sees aprrox 1300 patients per month
Number of Testing Rooms: 12

Daily Number of Cardiac Testing Cases:
Echocardiograms: 15-18
Stress Tests (Regular): 1-3
Dobutamine Stress Echos: 1-3
Stress Echo: 1-3
Cardiolites (Nuclear): 10-15

Mugascans:
Presently done through Nuclear Med as resting scan

Monthly Number of Invasive/Interventional Cases:
Cardiac Catheterizations: 130
PCIs/ Coronary Angioplasty: 40
Open Heart Surgery: 10
Transesophageal Echo Cardiograms with 3D: 20

Non-Invasive Cardiologist

Must be ECHO boarded (The Cardiovascular Testing Department is accredited by IAC)
Preferred nuclear boarded but will not be billing for nuclear testing (Radiology bills but we anticipate that a boarded nuclear cardiologist could do peer review and have oversight over the radiologists reading nuclear cases.)
Preferred TEE boarded
Will run Cardiac Testing lab and read Echo’s. Anticipated to be in Cardiac Testing for 1?2 day (7a-12p) every day reading echo’s while stress tests are taking place.
Anticipate working in outlying clinics 2 times a month.
Patient volume – expectation of seeing 15 patients in the office (1/2 day) or 30 patients if in office full-day.
Cardiology Equipment Available:

Cardiac and Vascular Studies: performed on Phillips iE33’s
Stress Tests and Dobutamines: Cardiac Science – Quinton (New Philips Stress Systems have been Purchased)
Philips Zymed Holter Parks Flo-lab for Segmental pressures, PVR’s, ABI’s, TBI’s
Apply Event recorders and provide patient information for various Event companies

All technicians are registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers

Cardiac Exams, Inc. – Currently read EKG’s, Stress Tests, Holters, and Echos. Consist of 7 Physicians (Family Practitioners and Internists) on our medical staff

Echo Levels Needed:
1)  3 months cumulative duration of training - 75 exams performed150 exams interpreted
2)  6 months - 150 exams performed 300 exams interpreted
3)  12 months - 300 exams performed 750 exams interpreted

COMPENSATION:

Option #1: Base salary of $406,000 (for those just completing training) with additional compensation for experience with a guaranteed salary for 2 years. Can be switched to a wRVU production contract when exceeding target. (5% less for those not yet boarded, switched immediately when become boarded)

Option #2: Base salary of 518,000 (75%tile) guaranteed for one year and then switched to production contract. (5% less for those not yet boarded, switched immediately when become boarded)

Vacation: 4 weeks plus holidays/sick days (29 PTO days). Additional 5 days when producing 75%tile wRVUs
CME/Books & Journals: 5 days and up to $5,000.
 
Contract also includes:
Deferred compensation: 457b plan. Defer compensation up to IRS limit of $18,000 year before taxes. No matching.
Retirement / Savings Plan: 403b plan. Defer compensation up to IRS limit of $18,000 year before taxes under age 50 and $24,000 for over age 50, matched dollar for dollar up to 2% of base pay.
Moving Expense: $10,000 paid to moving company
Malpractice Insurance Coverage: in a claims made insurance, in an amount of $1,000,000, per claim/$3,000,000, aggregate
Health Insurance: physician pays small premium, deducted from paycheck
Liquidated Damages: 70 mile and 2 year non-compete clause or liquidated damages of one year salary
Medical School Loan Repayment: repay up to $200,000 ($25,000 per year for each year of service commitment)
Community emergency response plan (CERP) – pay for call – explained by CFO
Sign on Bonus - $50,000 (paid when contract signed and forgiven over 2 years)

Number of Operating Suites: 2 Open Heart; 1 Hybrid (for peripheral vascular and open cardiac cases); 5 General Surgery Rooms; 4 Orthopedic Rooms; 5 Endo Suites with 1 ERCP Room; and 1 Cysto Suite located in the Endoscopy area (19 total rooms)
Regular OR Hours: Elective surgery scheduled Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Payor Mix: Insurance 31% Medicare 30% Medicaid 26%  Self-Pay 7% Others 6%

Same Day and General Surgery:
11,000 procedures per year (7,500 are same day), same day bed capacity increased from 24 to 33, private consultation rooms, pre and post- endoscopy rooms, chapel/meditation room, and lobby & waiting room.

Maternity Department:
11 Private LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Post), 1,600 deliveries per year, 5 room triage area, 3 rooms for surgery patients, surgical room, holding nursery, and a 6 bed special care nursery.

Critical Care Department:
16 ICU rooms (15 private), Circular floor set-up, Break away doors, sleeping rooms for on-call staff and medical students, and large waiting room with restrooms and vending machines.

Emergency Department:
23 beds (21 private) and 4 chairs, special pediatric room, drive-up lane, using computerize radiography (filmless), 2 x-ray rooms and a STAT lab – expanding to 47 beds.
