Description
We are looking for a Podiatrist to diagnose and treat minor or serious injuries and diseases of the feet, ankles and the lower part of legs. Podiatrist responsibilities include conducting foot and ankle surgeries, prescribing orthotics and applying therapeutic treatments for issues like arthritis, fractures and feet corn and calluses. To be considered for this role, you should have a doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine and practical experience in a clinic or hospital. Ultimately, you will give our patients the best treatment based on their condition and help them recover as soon as possible.


Location: Portsmouth Naval Base in the Podiatry/Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Department, NMC Portsmouth, VA.

Schedule: Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0700 and 1800 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an eight and half (8.5) to twelve and half (12.5) hour period, to include an uncompensated thirty (30) minute to sixty (60) minute lunch break, respectively. The HCW shall be on duty for at least forty (40) hours each week, but not to exceed fifty (50) each week. In no instance will each HCW exceed 100 hours per two (2) week period.

Pay: Between $90/hr - $110/hr

Skills
Successful completion a Podiatric residency (PSR24 only) approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).
A minimum of two (2) years of experience (including surgical experience) within the preceding two (2) years as a Podiatrist.
Provide two (2) letters of recommendation written within the last two (2) years attesting to the HCW’s clinical skills. At least one (1) letter must be from a physician or supervisor who has personally observed and evaluated the HCW and who can attest to the HCW’s clinical competence in the care of patients. The other letter may be from a clinic or hospital administrator, physician or nurse who has personal knowledge of the HCW’s patient care skills in a similar clinical environment. Reference letters shall attest to the HCW’s communication skills and ability to relate to patients as well as professional and other interpersonal skills among staff members and must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference. Letters of recommendation must have been written within the preceding two (2) years.
