Chief Physician Assistant needed for Cardiothoracic department of this large Boston teaching hospital. Candidates should have at least five years of clinical experience with preference given to PAs who have previously working in a Cardiothoracic unit. Responsibilities include: Preoperative prep and postoperative management of adult and ped CT patients Manage vents, cardiac assist devices, pacemakers Prepare patients for discharge ED, inpatient and outpatient coverage Scheduling and staffing Training new Physician Assistants Develop, update, and refine PA job descriptions Make recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salaries Maintain credentialing and licensure for PA staff Participate in education of students and residentsExtremely busy and thriving cardiothoracic department consists of approximately 15 providers including physicians and advanced practitioners.
