Summary:
We are looking for qualified Cardiologist for an opportunity to work with our veterans in Amarillo, TX.  

Key duties and responsibilities:
•  Will be working with the following staff: Cardiology Nurse Practitioners, ED physicians, Hospitalist, inpatient residents, medical officer of the day (MODs), medical specialist, surgical specialist for cardiology inpatient consults.
•  Document progress notes, procedure notes, orders, encounters and orders are within the electronic medical record per AVAHCS rules and regulations.
•  Ensure smooth and timely patient flow for cardiology patients both inpatient/outpatient.
•  Pharmacy, CPRS training
•  Meet requirements for documentation for third party billing.
•  Ensure proper communication with the Primary Care and specialty physicians including cardiology inpatient/outpatient consults.

Qualifications
•  The cardiologist shall possess full and unrestricted license and/or certification in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
•  The cardiologist locum shall be board certified or board eligible.
•  The cardiologist shall be responsible for meeting appropriate Joint Commission requirements regarding quality assurance, such as maintaining current credentials and clinical privileges, peer review, participating in criteria development and data analysis and providing guidance in meeting requirements for the cardiology department services.

Work Hours
•  40 hrs / week.
•  Scheduled shifts are between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Mon - Fri.
