The Ophthalmology department consisting of two M.D.’s and four O.D.’s is seeking a fellowship trained Medical Retina Specialist to join our established practice on the South Shore.

One of the largest independent multi-specialty medical groups on the South Shore. More than 150 physicians and associate practitioners work together in a distinctive integrated care model to provide high-quality care to over 75,000 members. They serve not only patients but also those from all surrounding communities.

Approximately 20 miles south of Boston. With such close proximity to our state’s capital, you can enjoy many attractions including sports, shopping, and entertaining that the metropolitan area has to offer.

We are currently seeking a full time Medical Retina Specialist who is a skilled physician, board-certified in Ophthalmology with fellowship training in medical retina to join our vibrant practice. The medical retina specialist will be seeing retina and comprehensive patients as well as performing retina lasers and injections. Initially the projection is 50/50 for retina vs general patient care with rapid growth in the retina practice.

Participation in general ophthalmology shared call duties 1 in 7 weeks with 7 or more other community doctors. Inpatient care is limited to General Ophthalmology patients.  

  • Full time position, 8-5 M-F, 4 clinical and 1 administrative day
  • Incoming provider will provide services at our 2 SMG Eye Department locations
  • Diagnosis and consultations will include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular problems, and hereditary retinal disorders
  • Procedures will be office and hospital based and include intravitreal injections and retinal laser photocoagulation.
