Hematology/Oncology - Southeastern New Mexico

• This Multi Specialty Group consists of 11 Full Time and 4 Part Time physicians with 3 additional signed to join in 2023.

• Call is usually telephone call. They leave it up to the individual provider to choose whether they go to the hospital to see patients. Call schedule is 1 week in 3 weeks and the Nursing staff is first call for Oncology on weekends.

• They have a robust support staff.  There are 2 certified medical assistants per MD, and they have 6-8 OCN & ONS certified infusion nurses on staff

• Patients per day = 18-22. This is based on their own 2-1 count - New consults count as 2, follow ups as 1 (Example - 10 new consults = 20)

• The salary is above MGMA with lucrative bonus structure

Duties: Diagnose and provide medical treatment for cancer, solid tumors, and benign and malignant blood disorders. On in-patient and out-patient basis, write and administer chemotherapy orders, perform bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures, review smears and refer patients for radiation oncology and surgery services as needed.
