The employer is a highly respected multi-site nonprofit that is growing here and elsewhere. Join one of Maine’s largest private practices and become part of a primary care team supported by experienced personnel and state-of-the-art facilities, resources and tools. Scarborough is a town of over 22,000 that is just south of Portland, adjacent to Cape Elizabeth and Old Orchard Beach. Practicing in this convenient suburb provides many residential options for you.

Portland has an expansive metro area that half a million people call home. As one of the most desirable cities in New England, this harbor town has a thriving social scene centered around the popular Old Port – a bustling district of shops, clubs and eateries. With literally hundreds of restaurants, Portland is a renown “foodie” city, winning multiple awards for quality and the diversity of offerings. Enjoy scenic harborside dining, numerous galleries and museums, live theater, an acclaimed symphony, and much more. The International Jetport is a convenient resource hosting several airlines. Portland is home to a trio of semipro farm teams (baseball, basketball and hockey), the state’s largest shopping mall, and ferry service to several picturesque islands in Casco Bay.

Portland lands on many Top 10 lists including “Best Cities for Hipsters,” “Most Educated City in America,” “Top City for Empty Nesters,” and “Coolest Small Cities in America.” Locals are proud to be the #3 “Best City for Families” (Parenting Magazine) and #1 “America’s Most Livable Cities” (Forbes).

Maine’s most popular sandy beaches are just minutes from the city and are perfect for everything from playing in the surf to relaxing with a book amid the call of the gulls. Local recreation includes golf, hiking, fishing, biking and horseback riding, along with a wide variety of boating – from kayaking to sailing. Wintertime sports include cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling – plus excellent downhill skiing and snowboarding just a short drive away.

Portland offers cultural diversity and an incredible quality of life. It’s a great place to raise children, with nationally-recognized schools, and attractive housing in city, suburban or rural settings. Portland is two hours from Boston – convenient by freeway, or on the popular “Down-Easter” train.
