Looking for an Inpatient Psychiatrist for a Community Mental Health Center in Ocala, Florida

OVERVIEW:

This position has a responsibility for psychiatric/medical treatment and care of adults at an Inpatient Acute Care Services facility. (May occasionally assist with treatment of children as young as 5.) Being part of the on-call rotation is required for this position. Additional compensation is available for providers who wish to pick up additional call shifts from home.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review and sign bio-psychosocial assessments and determine with signature if medically necessary.

Legibly complete psychiatric examination, daily progress notes, discharge summaries and all required documents within legal timelines prior to leaving for the day.

Provide medication management and document initiation and change of medication with an explanation in client's Medical Record.

Give 1st or 2nd opinions as indicated for the initiation of involuntary placement and present justification at Baker Act hearings.

Provide psychiatric services in accordance with Medicaid, Medicare, CARF a company standards and within legal timeframes.

Develop and approve treatment plans based on diagnosis and clinical needs.

Provide consultation in regard to appropriateness of admission, including the review of the medical history of clients seeking services.

Review and sign off on medical and physical exams completed by ARNP and PA.

Provide clinical guidance and feedback to PA and ARNP and other clinical staff in ACS.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master Degree from an accredited college or university. An approved residency in psychiatry.  Experience with Children/Adolescents.
