Description
Job Summary: We are in search of a passionate and skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our excellent team of doctors. You will care for a wide array of patients performing surgical procedures on the heart, lungs and other thoracic (chest) organs. The responsibilities of the Cardiothoracic Surgeon include diagnosing and treating diseases of these organs. Our primary mission is providing exceptional acute and preventive medical care to all people. Responsibilities: Examine, make diagnosis, evaluate, review medical history, and advise patients on the risk involved with having surgery. Perform surgical procedures to correct, improve, and remove heart, lungs, and other thoracic problems. Follow established surgical techniques during surgery. Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatment and procedures. Make certain operating rooms, all equipment and instruments are sterile. Direct and coordinate activities of hospital staff for proper patient care. Supervise all treatment prior to and post-surgery and identify associated risks. Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Associations Bill of Rights for patients. Current Internal Medicine Doctor license in state of practice required. Board certification required. At least five (5) plus years of surgery residency. Stable work history as Cardiothoracic Surgeon. The ability to communicate information in layman terms to patients and/or their families. Is compassionate and warm towards patients. Possesses a good bedside manner and has excellent listening skills.
