Description

A healthcare organization located in New York City is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Care Provider (FNP) to join their staff. In this role, the Primary Care Provider (FNP) provide compassionate and empathetic support and advice to patients regarding their health concerns.

Responsibilities

The Primary Care Provider (FNP):

  • Diagnose and treat both acute illnesses and chronic diseases
  • Provide routine health exams, immunizations, screenings, and wellness services
  • Provide health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluating treatments, as necessary
  • Prescribe or administer medications, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
  • Explain procedures and discussing test results or prescribed treatments with patients
  • Document patient encounters in structured notes including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results (assisted by a scribe)
  • Refer patients to other medical specialists, when necessary
  • Prepare official health documents or records, when necessary
  • Participate in network activities such as Provider meetings, Virtual Rounds, and training sessions

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Family, Internal or Emergency Medicine by NCCPA, AANP, ANCC, or AAENP
  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license (NP)
  • Active DEA Controlled Substance Registration or eligible for application
  • Prior experience in primary and/or urgent care as a Licensed Independent Provider (LIP)
  • Proven skills, knowledge base, and judgment necessary for independent clinical decision-making

Desired skills

  • Previous credentialing/participation with major commercial, Medicaid Managed Care, and Medicare Advantage plans
