Description
A healthcare facility in Connecticut is actively seeking a driven and compassionate Child / Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their staff. In this role, the Child / Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) ensures optimal care services are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
The Child / Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP):
- Conducts psychiatric evaluation and formulates accurate diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM)
- Manages prescribed medication, performs mental status examinations
- Develops and presents clear clinical impressions and recommendations that are specific and attainable
- Provides therapeutic interventions appropriate to specific problems
- Develops and documents clear clinical formulations
- Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision
- Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program
- Documents all client-related information in compliance with agency policy
- Completes other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Active DEA Controlled substance registration
- Have or be willing to obtain the suboxone waiver
- BLS
- Strong medical skills and knowledge
- Patient-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
