Description
A healthcare facility in Connecticut is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing staff. In this role, the Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) ensures optimal care services are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
The Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP):
- Conducts psychiatric evaluation and formulates accurate diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM)
- Manages prescribed medication, performs mental status examinations
- Develops and presents clear clinical impressions and recommendations that are specific and attainable
- Provides therapeutic interventions appropriate to specific problems
- Develops and documents clear clinical formulations
Qualifications
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Active DEA Controlled substance registration
- Knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and effective modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention
- Knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes, and resources
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
