Sangerville, Maine: We invite a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join a growing hospital-run practice in the middle of Maine, 1 hour from Bangor.

IM/FP/Med-Peds, MD/DO – all are welcomed by this equal opportunity employer. Physicians needing J1/H1b visa support are encouraged to apply.

The employer is an award-winning critical access hospital that is part of Maine’s second largest health system – offering financial stability and soundness, and an excellent referral / specialty network.

Join a collaborative group with a dedicated medical staff of Physicians and APPs supported by an experienced clinical and administrative team. This practice attracts patients from a large rural region. You can look forward to an interesting, broad scope, low-volume outpatient practice with a focus on geriatrics and chronic disease management. You will see patients in a modern medical office building that also houses Urgent Care, Women’s Health, Podiatry and Rehab – along with Lab and Imaging services. Specialty care is provided via telemedicine.

You will have a convenient weekday schedule (4 or 5 days, 40 hours) with no evening or weekend call. Teaching, precepting and mentorship opportunities arise when students and residents visit or rotate to the practice. Deliver patient-centered, compassionate care in a friendly and respectful environment with integrated EMR. Enjoy practicing where you will make a positive difference for your patients every day.

You will earn a highly competitive salary plus a cash sign-on bonus. Additional benefits include paid relocation assistance, health, dental, disability and life insurance, liability insurance with tail coverage, plenty of paid time off for vacations, holidays and sick leave, and more paid leave plus a budget for your CME. Generous multi-year assistance with your medical education debt is also available.

Sangerville is a historic community of small businesses, vintage homes and country farmhouses in an area with numerous lakes, ponds and rivers. Home to about 1400 people, this town represents a crossroad in central Maine – making the medical practice convenient to residents from more than a dozen nearby towns. You can live downtown, in a welcoming family neighborhood, or on acreage of your own, which is readily available in this part of the state. The length of the commute is entirely up to you.

Local recreation includes a variety of boating, scenic hiking and biking, camping, hunting and fishing, and bird watching. Enjoy snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. World class skiing and snowboarding is offered at Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine’s premier ski resort, 90 minutes from Sangerville.

The managing hospital is located 28 miles north of the Sangerville practice, in Greenville, Maine – on the shores of scenic Moosehead Lake – the largest mountain lake in the eastern US. Moosehead is popular with boaters, and with flyers. An annual Seaplane Fly-In Festival is held each September for water-worthy aircraft of all ages and sizes, just in time to enjoy the autumn colors. In winter, the unique Moose Loop Trail is a groomed snowmobile path that surrounds the lake, offering a fun multi-day tour for winter sledders that includes B&Bs, inns and restaurants at key points along the trail.

The city of Bangor is easily accessible from Sangerville. Maine’s third largest city, this community of 100,000 people features an international airport, shopping malls and theatres, dozens of restaurants, a children’s museum, a casino/hotel, summer concerts and music festivals on the riverfront, and more.
