Nocturnist - Southern Texas

• Hospital employed practice is seeking a BC/BE Internist to serve as a dedicated Nocturnist
• Competitive compensation offered - to be discussed with employer directly
• 7 on/7 off block scheduling (no call) - 7 pm to 7 am with rotating holidays
• Group has 9 full-time physicians, 3 PRN physicians, 2 nocturnists, and an APP team
• Nocturnist hours  7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Currently, 1 full-time nocturnist and a NP on shift between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m.
• New model will consist of 2 Nocturnists and 2 FNP's to manage the census in house, transfer center admissions
• Average 80-100 patients per shift
• Team covers all admissions at night (12-23 per night)
• Team responds to all calls from the floors at night (15-30)
• Typically, 1 resident available at night to help with up to 4 admissions
• Open ICU; however the Intensivist team does most of the procedures and responds to hospital codes
• Opportunity to teach internal medicine residents if desired
