Augusta, Maine: We invite a sharp Hematologist/Oncologist to join a regionally respected Cancer Care Center and Maine’s newest hospital – a 190-bed regional medical center in the state capital city, just 50 minutes from Portland. This physician-led nonprofit hospital is the area’s largest private employer and Maine’s third largest healthcare system, serving 65,000 people. This is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.

Candidates requiring H1b visa sponsorship are encouraged to apply.

Join a collegial team of 6 Physicians, 8 APPs and experienced Radiation Oncologists providing the highest quality cancer care for patients in the on-campus Cancer Center. Each physician team is supported by a dedicated nurse navigator and a medical assistant. The practice has a multi-disciplinary tumor board, and expert collaboration in several specialties: ENT, Pulmonology, Dermatology, GI, Colorectal, Thoracic, Gynecology, and Breast Navigators and Surgeons.

The Cancer Center has earned many prestigious awards and recognitions including the Women’s Choice Award/Best Hospitals for Cancer Care, Healthgrade’s Outstanding Patient Experience award, Newsweek World’s Best Hospitals award, and Best-in-State Employer from Forbes. This is the base for the Maine Cancer Genomics Initiative, an alliance of the Maine oncology providers, led by researchers at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Enjoy a convenient and flexible 4 day/week clinical schedule, providing a terrific work/life balance. Call is handled by phone only, supported by 24/7 hospitalist coverage. The parent hospital is home to an unopposed Family Medicine Residency Program, so opportunities to teach residents and fellows are available.

This hospital-employed position comes with a very competitive salary plus a significant RVU bonus structure and a cash retention bonus of $100K. Benefits include paid relocation assistance, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life, and disability), paid time off for sick leave and vacations, paid holidays, more paid leave plus a budget for your CME, an onsite daycare facility, your choice of retirement plans with employer matching, and more.
