BAR HARBOR, Maine: We seek an experienced Physician Assistant to join the Emergency Department staff in an exceptional 25-bed hospital in this unique coastal location. This Critical Access Hospital is rated #1 in Maine, and one of the tops in the nation. You will enjoy an interesting, broad scope practice in a rural setting. From June through October, the ED averages about 800-900 visits/month – the rest of the year, the volume is more than 50% less. This is an employed position with an independent, nonprofit hospital where you will work alongside medical providers (Physicians and PAs) supported by an excellent clinical and administrative team. At times you will be paired with a physician, and at other times you will be the sole provider. During the summer months when volume is highest, double-coverage is typical for the busiest hours (10am-8pm). A flexible schedule is available – with your choice of 12- or 24-hour shifts – to make a 36 hour week, giving you the chance to enjoy an amazing lifestyle in a desirable, welcoming community.
