Locums ED Physician Needed for additional coverage:Teaching Hospital 33 ED beds 22% Admission rate Additional facility information The 129-acre wooded campus included the main hospital, as well as a 50-bed rehabilitation hospital, outpatient rehabilitation center, and a community health and fitness center. Reason for coverage Need: Understaffed Number of shifts needing coverage: 40 shifts How long will job be open: Until staffed Requirements: Vent Mgmt., Central Lines, Chest tubes, Trauma, Ultrasound, Procedural Sedation, Emergency Cricothyroidotomy, Difficult airway mgmt. / Rapid sequence intubation BC/BP in EM Board eligible (5 years) must maintain Program Structure: Number of beds: 312 Shifts: 6a-4p, 10a-9p, 2p-1a, 8p-6a NIGHT SHIFT REQUIRED Nightshift: 1 doc and 1 APC Swing shift: 2 docs, 1 APC ICU size: 32 Semi-closed, must have permission from Intensivist to admit to ICU. Intensivist: Yes 24 hour coverage of MD/NP Sub Specialty Support: Cardiology, Cardiovascular surgery, Gyn, Medicine, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ortho, Pulm, Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery Volume / Clinical: Census: 49000 / ~139/day # of patients per MD: ~35 (with APC help) Rapid Response Requirement: ED providers not required to respond. Code Requirement: ICU will respond to all codes, and ED APC will respond only if ICU not available. Acuity Level/Transfers: Trauma- EDMD calls trauma surgeon prior to arrival of all Level 1 traumas. Level 2 and above surgeon called only if needed. Transfer- Case manager/charge nurse contacts CHRISTUS transfer center who will then work on finding placement. Texas residents stay in Texas, Arkansas residents transfer to Arkansas. Level III Trauma, Heliport for pt. transport EMR: Meditech Credentialing: Time Needed: 60-90 days Temp privilege's: Yes under certain circumstances. Approval from MSO and CMO required. Certifications Required: EM-ATLS (must have had ATLS -does not need to be current) Notes/Other : Trauma III, Stroke & Chest Pain Does not allow residents to work in ER (no 3rd/4th year residents) Moderate Sedation exam must be completed for requested privileges -exam is emailed via a link directly to the provider to complete (xxxxxxxxxxx*) Flu-annually between October and March TB within 12 months (not required to keep current) Covid-2 vaccines or waiver for religion/medical (hospital will approve waiver) Immunization Records-MMR, VZV, Hep B, Tdap Employee health will complete any necessary screens -MSO will coordinate 1x1 orientation completed day prior to first shift-must be on a week day, orientation from 8:45am to 2:30pm Computer Based Training must be completed prior to orientation (if not completed then orientation may add 2 additional hours to orientation).
