Coverage Needs Details: Emergency department has 3 physician vacancies and need locum support while they recruit. This is a rural hospital - locum must be confident in running ED codes, and competent in all required procedures. JOB INFORMATION
OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center is looking for Emergency Medicine locum coverage starting September 1, 2023 (or sooner!), for 3+ months.
Single coverage Emergency Department w/ midlevel coverage. Avg. doc sees 1.7 PPH on days and 1.2 PPH on nights. Midlevel coverage 24/7 on Mon, Wed, Fri; 11a-11p Tues, Thurs
Department sees 55 patients per 24 period
Rural hospital - no trauma designation - Anesthesia is 30 minutes out Procedures required: Intubation, lac repairs, central lines, chest tubes, fracture reductions, lumbar puncture, splinting, cardioversion, surgical airway (emergent), vaginal delivery (emergent), foreign body removal.
Staffing: Will work with NPs and/or PAs. Not expected to sign their charts. Will sign out to other physicians. SHIFT/SCHEDULE INFORMATION
12hr in-house; Need help with day shifts the most
7am-7pm /7pm-7am CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Active IL license, IMLC letter in hand
DEA Required: Yes
Board Status: Board Certified, Board Eligible (within 12 months of residency)
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
EMR: EPIC
Reporting/Onboarding: When starting Medical Director will give tour, overview of dept and ensure access to EMR, badge, etc.
