A healthcare system in New York City is actively seeking a patient-oriented Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing staff.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) will:

• Provide care to surgery patients under the direction of a variety of surgery specialists
• Promote a safe, cooperative, and professional healthcare environment to ensure optimum patient care
• Order, collect, and perform appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures and studies, including but not limited to blood and tissue specimens
• Interpret data to formulate a differential diagnosis and establish a working diagnosis and treatment plan for both inpatient and outpatient surgical patients, under supervision of attending
• Under supervision, perform minor surgical outpatient procedures, such as, but not limited to, wound management/debridement, incision, and drainage
• Order, prescribe, and dispense/administer medications, as deemed necessary by the attending

• Current New York State License to practice as a Physician Assistant
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply!
• Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification
• DEA License
• Strong medical skills and knowledge

• 1 year of experience
