Description
Medical Oncologist Director to join multi-disciplinary Sarcoma team at Montefiore Medical Center.
The Department of Medical Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a Medical Oncologist Director to join a robust and experienced multi-disciplinary Sarcoma Program.
This full-time position is based at Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center (MECC) in the Bronx, NY, an NCI-designated cancer center and national leader in cancer research and care, with a patient base that includes the Bronx, Connecticut, Hudson Valley, New York City, and Westchester County. The position offers a dual academic appointment in both the Departments of Medicine and Orthopedics and the opportunity for a close clinical and academic collaboration with orthopedic oncology, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology and other associated subspecialties, all of which are well represented. Physician extender support and protected space and time will be provided to allow the individual to further grow the program, attend conferences, and conduct clinical trials. The position offers the opportunity to work with a racially diverse patient population, which is often underrepresented in many clinical trials. Currently, the program maintains two translational NIH R01 Grants in sarcoma from the NCI as well as dedicated clinical trial and research teams within the clinical trial office. There are also opportunities to interact and collaborate with experienced scientists at Einstein to translate laboratory findings into early phase clinical trials.
Physicians with a strong clinical, leadership, and translational research experience in sarcoma are encouraged to apply for this leadership position within a highly collaborative and innovative multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide patient care in the clinical faculty practice and inpatient settings and will participate in clinical and/or translational research, as well as mentorship and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.
The institution is immediately adjacent to the myriad cultural offerings that NYC has to offer and permits both urban and more suburban living options. In addition to a competitive salary of $500,000-575,000, we offer the opportunity to make more income with productivity incentives. Academic appointment at Albert Einstein College of Medicine commensurate on experience, LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) are also offered.
Applicants must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Medical Oncology, should have completed an accredited Medical Oncology Fellowship, and must be eligible for a New York state license.
Please submit a cover letter and CV to Recruiting Manager, John C. Pinto at xxxxxxxxxxx* for consideration.
