Description
We are seeking a Board Certified ENT for a locums assignment with clinic and hospital coverage 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh. You will have large health system support with specialists on-site. This position entails 1 week per month - Trauma call and hospital with office coverage Sun-Sun. Office coverage dates will be determined closer to start date. Reason for Opening: Team Growth.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
•  Active PA License and Licensure
•  DEA Required: Yes | Active State
•  Board Status: Board Certified, Board Eligible
•  Oral Maxillofacial and Facial Repairs/Trauma Strongly Preferred  
•  Required Certifications: ACLS
•  Minimum Years Experience (if applicable): 3

SHIFT/SCHEDULE INFORMATION
•  Mon, Wed, Fri | 8a-430p | Clinic
•  Tues & Thurs | 8a-430p | Hospital
•  Weeknight Call | 430p-8a |
•  Weekend 24hr Call | 7a-7a |


JOB INFORMATION
•  Typical Day: Office is 8a-430p seeing approximately 20 patients, mix of new and established patients. Hospital: approximately 2 weekdays per week. Locum take weekend, 24-hour, call coverage Saturday and Sunday.
•  Will be 1 other ENT working at the same time as the locum
•  Tertiary referrals are sent to UPMC Presbyterian or another of the large, academic-teaching UPMC hospitals in Pittsburgh
•  Daily rate clinic/hospital is 8 hours of work includes: office work, inpatient rounding, inpatient consults, and performing surgery.
•  AVG Consults per Day: 3
•  AVG Outpatients per Day: 20
•  The ENT practice providers: physicians and NP/PAs do not provide audio services. There is a separate, independent consultant provider who provides audio services within the office, but this provider is not employed by the practice. There is usually 1 physician assistant in the office to work with the locum physician; however again this physician assistant does not provide audio services.  
•  AVG Admissions While on Call: 3
•  Patient Mix: 90% Adult | 10% Peds
•  Procedures: routine ENT procedures
•  Typical Cases Seen: Routine ENT patient needs, emergency room and trauma patients with ENT needs. Typical ENT surgical skill and experience
•  Other Specialties Onsite: There are physician assistants and nurses and medical assistants at the office
•  # of Maxillofacial Surgeries per year: 12 – 15. These are comprised of: open reduction internal fixation of facial fractures and mandible.
•  # of surgeries per week:  During the 1 week per month that the locum ENT provides coverage, they typically perform an average of 3 surgeries which may be “typical ENT surgeries” which would include: tracheostomy, removal foreign body, cauterization of bleeder, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, septoplasty, turbinectomy, and may include the maxillofacial surgeries above: open reduction internal fixation of facial fractures and mandible.
