Description
A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team in Manhattan as a Primary Care Provider. In this role, the Primary Care Provider (NP / PA) will be responsible for screening, diagnoses, and treatment of patients, providing such care in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner, and making appropriate internal and external referrals. 

About the Opportunity:

  • Setting: Outpatient
  • Specialty: Primary Care
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturdays
  • Patient Volume: 12 to 24 per day
  • Patient Population: LGBTQIA+
  • Shifts: 3 morning / daytime and 2 evening shifts per week

Responsibilities:

The Primary Care Provider (NP / PA) will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive care to our patients according to pre-arranged schedules
  • Documenting care promptly and following charting protocols
  • Ensuring appropriate follow-up for all aspects of ordered care 
  • Providing care to patients living with HIV
  • Participating in didactics, precepting, and case conferencing in order to build competency in HIV care
  • Assisting in continuous quality improvement through ongoing problem / needs identification and problem-solving
  • Maintaining familiarity with clinical guidelines and current treatment protocols in areas, such as transgender health, GEN care, and STI care
  • Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) license
  • Board Certification and/or Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Infectious Disease for MDs/DOs
  • Current NYS Registration
  • DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate
  • CPR Certification
  • Commitment to Community-based Primary Care
Desired Skills:
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) 
  • Experience serving LGBTQIA+ and HIV-positive patients
