Physician / Surgery - General / South Carolina / Locum tenens / Surgical Critical Care and General Surgeon Job

Are you a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Critical Care and General Surgeon looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity? We have an excellent position available South Carolina. Join our dynamic team and contribute to delivering exceptional care to our diverse patient population.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery
• Licensed in South Carolina with active SC Medical, SC Controlled Substance, and DEA registration
• Active CSR to be initiated on the front end
• Availability for specified dates (see below)

Assignment Details:

• Inpatient Schedule: 7 am – 5 pm, Trauma coverage Monday – Friday
• 1 half day of clinic per week for post-op follow-ups with 20-25 patients
• Participate in 1:9 24-hour call rotation – weekend rotation varies
• Day and Night inpatient APP (Advanced Practice Provider) support available
• Daily rounds on 10-20 inpatients, trauma consults, and emergency responses
• Average daily admissions: 5
• Required Procedures: Blunt and penetrating trauma, emergent procedures, ICU bedside procedures (tracheotomy, PEG tube, chest tube, etc.)
• Surgical Volume: 5-10 operations/week on average
• Consult Volume: 5-10 per day
• Comfort with Adult and Pediatric trauma care, age range 8-15, predominantly 13-15
• Level 2 trauma center operating as a level 1; familiarity required
• This is a 500+ bed facility offering comprehensive service lines and subspecialties
• EMR system: EPIC
