Description
A health services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing Dermatology team in Brooklyn.
About the Opportunity:
- Setting: Outpatient
- Specialty: Dermatology
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (close every Friday at 1pm)
- Patient Population: Medicaid Orthodox (Males)
- Call Schedule: None
Responsibilities:
The Dermatology NP / PA will be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments to identify and diagnose various dermatological conditions
- Performing skin exams to check for moles, growths, and other abnormalities
- Developing comprehensive treatment plans for patients based on their individual needs and the specific condition being treated
- Prescribing medications, topical treatments, and other therapies to manage dermatological conditions
- Performing minor surgical procedures such as mole removal, cyst drainage, and skin tag removal
- Administering injectable treatments for cosmetic purposes, such as Botox and dermal fillers
- Conducting patch testing to diagnose allergic contact dermatitis and recommend appropriate allergen avoidance strategies
- Educating patients about their condition, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote optimal skin health
- Providing guidance on proper skincare routines, sun protection, and lifestyle modifications to manage and prevent dermatological issues
- Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans, as necessary
- Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records, including patient histories, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Dermatology experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- NYS licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
