A health services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing Pediatric team in Brooklyn.

About the Opportunity:

  • Setting: Outpatient
  • Specialty: Pediatrics
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (close every Friday at 1pm)
  • Call Schedule: None
Responsibilities:

The Pediatric PA will be responsible for:
  • Conducting thorough physical assessments of pediatric patients, including evaluating growth and development milestones, and identifying any potential health issues
  • Diagnosing and treating common pediatric illnesses, infections, and conditions such as respiratory infections, ear infections, allergies, and skin rashes
  • Developing and implementing appropriate treatment plans for pediatric patients, which may include prescribing medications, providing vaccinations, and recommending lifestyle modifications
  • Managing chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and obesity by monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment regimens, and educating patients and their families
  • Performing minor procedures and interventions such as suturing lacerations, removing sutures or staples, and draining abscesses
  • Conducting well-child visits to monitor growth, development, and overall health
  • Administering routine vaccinations and providing guidance on preventive measures such as nutrition, immunizations, and safety practices
  • Educating parents and caregivers about pediatric health topics, including proper nutrition, growth milestones, developmental expectations, and illness prevention
  • Providing urgent care for pediatric patients in emergency situations, stabilizing their condition, and making appropriate referrals if needed
  • Counseling families and patients about healthy habits, injury prevention, and managing chronic conditions to promote overall well-being
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records, including patient histories, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience working with the Pediatric population
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • NYS licensed Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Master's Degree
