Description
Rutland, Vermont: We invite a non-invasive, fellowship-trained CARDIOLOGIST to join 3 specialists and a wonderful NP in an established practice in the heart of New England’s scenic ski country. This is a hospital-owned practice in Vermont’s second largest hospital.

Join an independent 144-bed medical center with 1,800 professional and support staff including more than 240 providers practicing in 40+ specialty areas. This historic institution has been providing high quality healthcare to residents of central Vermont for over 100 years. This Nursing Magnet Hospital has an “A” Rating from Leapfrog for hospital safety, a Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award, and a Top 5% rating for “Teamwork between providers and nurses,” “Expertise of the nursing staff,” and “Performance of Administration.” The hospital EMR offers home access.

The Cardiology practice provides a broad range of services including diagnostic catheterization, pacemaker insertion, TEE, peripheral vascular, femoral artery disease post-surgical management and more. The Heart Center is housed in a modern medical arts building across the street from the hospital. Enjoy excellent support and the latest services, equipment and technology – with invasive cardiology and electrophysiology procedures supported by relationships with Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the University of Vermont Medical Center.

This is a newly created position to meet the needs of a growing practice. This full time position comes with a convenient weekday schedule to foster a positive work-life balance. The culture of the practice is one of friendly professionalism, mutual support, and integrated systems of care between the Emergency Department, ICU, and Hospitalist Programs. Practice in a safe environment where every physician is valued, and every patient receives world class care.

You will earn a competitive salary based on experience, a very strong incentive plan, plus a cash sign-on bonus. Benefits include relocation assistance, paid liability insurance, health, dental and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, participation in a retirement plan, plenty of paid time off for vacations and sick days – and more paid leave plus a budget for your CME. Student loan assistance is also provided. Details will be shared with qualified candidates.

Rutland is a charming midsized city situated at the base of the largest ski area in the East. Known as a relaxing vacation destination, Vermont is the Healthiest State in the USA – and was just named the #1 State to Live and Work In (CNBC 2023). Now you can make it your year-round home.

Enjoy classic New England: picturesque hills and mountains, historic towns, sparkling rivers and lakes – and a wide range of real estate options. If you dream of a country lifestyle, properties with substantial acreage are available. Choose a safe and healthy neighborhood with a mountain view, or perhaps a home on a waterfront lot.

Forget the traffic, high cost of living, and other hassles found in larger metropolitan areas. Rutland’s 20,000 residents participate in a healthy, diverse economy of which tourism is a key component. This community is wonderful for families, offering top-ranked public and private schools. Vermont leads the nation with the best public school teacher-to-student ratios and Covid vaccination rates.

Join a community with a “buy-local” spirit, organic farm-to-table markets, a very low crime rate, and a neighborly atmosphere. Enjoy summer music in the bandstand in the park, or a wildflower walk. Take in the local theater, a visit from the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and cultural events via nearby colleges. Enjoy a prosperous arts community of galleries and museums, shopping specialty stores and famous-name outlet shops, and easy access to 3 major airports.

Live amidst impressive natural beauty in the Green Mountains near Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. Enjoy innumerable recreational activities ranging from biking, hiking and camping to hunting and fishing, plus yoga, golf, sailing and kayaking. In the colder season, enjoy ice hockey or snowmobiling, peaceful snowshoeing, or exceptional skiing and snowboarding. Rutland is just 20 minutes from Killington, a vast resort with over 200 trails.

Rutland offers easy access by car, rail or plane to Burlington, Albany, Boston, New York City, the Maine coast – and Montreal, Quebec, Canada too.
