Description
A New York City healthcare organization is looking to add a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) to their Acute Care team in Queens.

Responsibilities:

The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) will:
  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as laboratory work and imaging studies
  • Accurately diagnose acute medical conditions and differentiate between various possible diagnoses
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute illnesses
  • Prescribe medications and manage drug therapies
  • Perform or assist with invasive procedures, 
  • Provide care to critically ill patients in settings like intensive care units (ICUs)
  • Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory values, and other relevant data, making timely interventions as needed to stabilize or improve their condition
  • Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and the importance of adherence to the care plan
  • Perform or assist with diagnostic procedures and order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Respond to medical emergencies within the healthcare facility, providing advanced life support and stabilization measures, as needed
  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records, documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Acute Care and/or related experience
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree
  • NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
