A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team as a Child Psych NP. In this role, the Child Psych NP will be responsible for providing psychiatric services, including provision of a full behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

About the Opportunity:
  • State Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 10am to 6pm (flexible to do 4 10-hour days a week)
  • Setting: Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
  • EMR: MyAvatar NX
Responsibilities:

The Child Psych NP will:
  • Provide health/behavioral health assessment, treatment recommendations and treatment planning for clients across program types
  • Provide psychiatric assessment, clarification of clinical diagnosis, recommend treatment options and provide client education on mental health issues and strategies for recovery and review patient’s progress and recommend discharge and aftercare planning
  • Attend daily team meetings and weekly one-on-one supervision
  • Monitor, evaluate and record client progress with respect to care plan goals
  • Participate in case reviews and contribute to treatment planning goal setting
  • Provide consultations to non-medical staff on complex cases
  • Assess risk, develop safety plans and provide crisis intervention services
  • Monitor, evaluate and record participant progress with respect to care plan goals
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • NYS Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of New York.
  • Current DEA registration for the prescribing of Controlled Substances
  • ANCC certification or pending application
  • Microsoft Office proficient
Desired Skills:
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience working with the Medically Underserved
