Description

A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a Cantonese and/or Mandarin-speaking, licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Primary Care team in Manhattan.

Responsibilities:

The Primary Care NP / PA will:
  • Perform physical examinations and patient assessments to manage a range of patient health and wellness issues
  • Order laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed
  • Obtain patient medical histories and document pertinent health history data and results of exam according to established standards
  • Make recommendations for appropriate patient treatment plans based on assessment of needs
  • Initiate treatment by prescribing medication, ordering diagnostic tests, exams, and procedures
  • Review lab results and propose plan of action according to results
  • Coordinate care and perform routine health maintenance for established and new patients
  • Provide preventive health services by counseling and educating patients and families
  • Provide care for women's health which includes performing pap smears and other related tasks
  • Assist in quality management
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Advanced Practitioner, including 2+ years of experience in a Primary Care role/setting
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree
  • Completed an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program with a national certification 
  • NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) license
  • ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Bilingual (English and Cantonese or Mandarin)
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Experience in a Primary Care role/setting
