Physician / Psychiatry / New York / Permanent / Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Job

A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a new, licensed Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join their growing team in the Bronx. In this role, the Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing quality psychiatric and/or mental health services within the program as well as assuring the proper delivery of services and appropriate documentation.

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Patient Population: Underserved community 

Responsibilities:

The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will:

• Provide psychiatric assessment of children and families referred to program
• Recommend specific forms of therapy needed by children
• Prescribe medication for children when necessary and maintain appropriate medication records
• Monitor children receiving medication treatment at regular intervals
• Provide appropriate consultation to clinical staff, teachers and other related personnel, as needed
• Prepare psychiatric reports as part of the children’s records in keeping with agency and regulatory requirements
• Participate in special case review conferences and participates in the decision to continue or terminate treatment
• Review and sign treatment plans
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice in the State of New York
• Board Certified in Psychiatry
