A medical services organization in California is looking to add a licensed professional to join their team as a Substance Use Disorder Clinician to their growing team at one of their facilities in Los Angeles.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8am to 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
  • Setting: Outpatient

Responsibilities:

The Substance Use Disorder Clinician will:

  • Conduct psycho-social assessments of clients
  • Make referrals and conduct follow up on clients needing additional mental health services
  • Provide crisis intervention services for clients in need of counsel and support
  • Provide individual and group counseling and appropriate documentation
  • Perform mental status examinations, therapy and preventive health measures
  • Record physical finding, and formulate a plan and prognosis, based on the patient’s condition
  • Discuss cases with Physician and other health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan
  • Administer or recommend individual therapy or other forms of treatment
  • Supervise counselors, case managers, and graduate level interns
  • Assist the Clinical Supervisor and Director of Behavioral and Social Services in completing reports and reapplication requirements based on funder guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a Community-based organization, including 3 years of experience implementing and advancing Substance Abuse Treatment programs in a Supervisorial role
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Licensed Therapist (MFT, LCSW, PsyD) or licensed Therapist
  • Familiar with state and local alcohol / drug mental health issues and regulations, particularly the Drug Medical program
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:

  • Master's Degree in Mental / Public Health, Social Services / Work, and/or Public Administration
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Previous experience in an Outpatient setting
