Description
A medical services organization in California is looking to add a licensed professional to join their team as a Substance Use Disorder Clinician to their growing team at one of their facilities in Los Angeles.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Setting: Outpatient
Responsibilities:
The Substance Use Disorder Clinician will:
- Conduct psycho-social assessments of clients
- Make referrals and conduct follow up on clients needing additional mental health services
- Provide crisis intervention services for clients in need of counsel and support
- Provide individual and group counseling and appropriate documentation
- Perform mental status examinations, therapy and preventive health measures
- Record physical finding, and formulate a plan and prognosis, based on the patient’s condition
- Discuss cases with Physician and other health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan
- Administer or recommend individual therapy or other forms of treatment
- Supervise counselors, case managers, and graduate level interns
- Assist the Clinical Supervisor and Director of Behavioral and Social Services in completing reports and reapplication requirements based on funder guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in a Community-based organization, including 3 years of experience implementing and advancing Substance Abuse Treatment programs in a Supervisorial role
- Bachelor's Degree
- Licensed Therapist (MFT, LCSW, PsyD) or licensed Therapist
- Familiar with state and local alcohol / drug mental health issues and regulations, particularly the Drug Medical program
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree in Mental / Public Health, Social Services / Work, and/or Public Administration
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Previous experience in an Outpatient setting
