Description
A construction services company in California is looking to add an experienced professional to their team as their new Vice President of Safety & Fleet. In this role, the Vice President of Safety & Fleet will be responsible for leading and overseeing all safety and fleet management operations within the company.
Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Safety & Fleet will:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a culture of safety awareness, continuous improvement, and accountability throughout the organization.
- Oversee and optimize the management and maintenance of the company's fleet, including trucks, vehicles, and equipment
- Implement cost-effective fleet management strategies, including maintenance schedules, fuel efficiency, and replacement schedules
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members
- Build and lead a high-performing Safety & Fleet Management team
- Identify and assess potential safety and fleet-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Develop and manage the safety and fleet budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on safety and fleet performance, KPIs, and recommendations for improvements
- Lead and supervise a team of Safety Managers and Regional Safety Coordinators across various locations
- Ensure that Safety Managers and Regional Safety Coordinators stay up to date with the latest safety regulations and industry trends
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Safety & Fleet Management
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of Safety regulations and compliance, as well as Fleet Management best practices
- Experience in managing budgets and driving cost-effective solutions
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Fleet Manager (CFM) designation
- Experience working in the Construction and/or Distribution industry
