Description
A construction services company in California is looking to add an experienced professional to their team as their new Vice President of Safety & Fleet. In this role, the Vice President of Safety & Fleet will be responsible for leading and overseeing all safety and fleet management operations within the company.

Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Safety & Fleet will:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a culture of safety awareness, continuous improvement, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Oversee and optimize the management and maintenance of the company's fleet, including trucks, vehicles, and equipment
  • Implement cost-effective fleet management strategies, including maintenance schedules, fuel efficiency, and replacement schedules
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Build and lead a high-performing Safety & Fleet Management team
  • Identify and assess potential safety and fleet-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Develop and manage the safety and fleet budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on safety and fleet performance, KPIs, and recommendations for improvements
  • Lead and supervise a team of Safety Managers and Regional Safety Coordinators across various locations
  • Ensure that Safety Managers and Regional Safety Coordinators stay up to date with the latest safety regulations and industry trends
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in Safety & Fleet Management
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of Safety regulations and compliance, as well as Fleet Management best practices
  • Experience in managing budgets and driving cost-effective solutions
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Master's Degree
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Fleet Manager (CFM) designation
  • Experience working in the Construction and/or Distribution industry
