Description
A health serivces organization in New York City is currently seeking a Cantonese and/or Mandarin-speaking, licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing Gastroenterology team.
Responsibilities:
The Gastroenterology NP / PA will:
Perform physical examinations and patient assessments to manage a range of patient health and wellness issues
Order laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed
Obtain patient medical histories and document pertinent health history data and results of exam according to established standards
Make recommendations for appropriate patient treatment plans based on assessment of needs
Initiate treatment by prescribing medication, ordering diagnostic tests, exams, and procedures
Review lab results and propose plan of action according to results
Coordinate care and perform routine health maintenance for established and new patients
Provide preventive health services by counseling and educating patients and families
Provide care for women's health, including performing pap smears and other related tasks
Assist in quality management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Active NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) license
ACLS and BLS certifications
Bilingual (English and Cantonese or Mandarin)
Previous experience in a Gastroenterology role/setting
Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
Patient oriented
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills:
Master's Degree
Previous experience in a Primary Care role/setting
