Description
A health services network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their ED / PEC team in Queens. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients of all ages for chronic and acute injuries, infections and illnesses.
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) - ED / PEC will:
- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Provide accurate and comprehensive documentation of the patient encounter in the medical chart
- Formulate diagnostic and treatment plans
- Prescribe and administer medications, therapies, suturing and splinting
- Order labs and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan and provide advise on follow up
- Attend meetings to discuss mutual problems, and implements new procedures
- Counsel patients on preventative care
- Provide quality on-site care and appropriate information for post-discharge careC
- Complete charts in a timely manner so as to comply with medical records standard and allow billing for medical services
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program
- NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
- Successful completion of pharmacy component
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
