Description
Adelphi is seeking a psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services -routine and emergency at facilities in south central Kentucky. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of psychopharmacology and psychiatric chemotherapy. These services will be an 'on-needs' basis to cover in times of staff shortages or until vacant positions can be filled.Job Quick Facts: • Ref #: BD-564-01 • Profession: Physician • Specialty: Psychiatrist • Location: Louisville/Glasgow/LaGrange/Hopkinsville, Kentucky • Facility Type: Hospitals and Nursing facility • Service Setting: Inpatient & outpatient • Job Type: Contract • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Shift Schedule: 52 weeks per year as needed, Mon-Fri, weekends / holidays at all times when needed • Call Schedule: weekends / holidays, and vacation coverage • Start Date: On a needs basis Requirements: • Active Kentucky license • BE/BC in Psychiatry • Minimum 3 years experience Responsibilities: • Conduct professional routine and emergency examinations on patients. • Provide in-patient psychiatric treatment to residents/patients • Make recommendations for the treatment of behavioral or psychiatric disorder. • Make electronic entries in patient medical record. • Comply with all applicable Federal Regulations, as well as Department and Facility Policies and Procedures. • Provide assistance to the physician(s) with both routine and emergency procedures. • Provide specialized services in the fields of psychopharmacology and psychiatric chemotherapy as requested • Provide written notations for Medicare and/or Medicaid as well as telephone interviews with private insurance companies as needed. • Document treatment provided and tests administered in appropriate formats on required forms on each visit to the facility. • Participate in incident review meetings, clinical staff meetings, respite and annual individual habilitation plan team meetings and any other pertinent staff meeting. • Consult as necessary with resident families in regard to the medical or psychiatric care when necessary or requested. • Ensure availability to staff by telephone, voice mail, e-mail, pager and intra-facility mail, as necessary. • Ensure completion of continuing medical education as mandated by the American Medical Association, for the life of this contract. • Participate in the quality initiatives of the facility, as needed • Provide on-call services weekdays, 52 weeks per year; weekends / holidays, and for vacation coverage, if needed. • Any other duties as assigned.
