Trauma Level II Gastroenterology Dates:
• May 13 (7a) - 28 (7a)
• June 24 (7a) - July 4 (7a)
• On going… Description:
• 100% inpatient setting
• Manage a patient load of 16 with 6 consults
• Join a dynamic 3-physician group
• EMR: EPIC Responsibilities:
• Perform various gastroenterological procedures including:
• Colonoscopy
• Liver biopsy
• Esophageal dilatation/manometry
• Esophageal manometry interpretation
• Lower GI endoscopy
• Sigmoidoscopy
• Conduct upper GI endoscopy procedures such as:
• Biopsy
• Foreign body removal
• Fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser)
• Injection of varices
• Banding of varices
• ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
• PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
• Diagnostic and therapeutic Requirement:
• Active SC State License
• Paperwork submission deadline: April 25, 2024 for emergency privileges
