A large multispecialty hospital is seeking an anatomic pathologist for locum tenens coverage.
The facility is located in northern Iowa.
The assignment entails providing coverage for 7 weeks of vacation, focusing on biopsies, GI, skin, frozen (skin margins), and melanomas (although it is not a deal-breaker if the clinician cannot perform them). The clinician will be responsible for handling their own grossing of small specimens. The lab is supported by 2 histotechnologists. There is no call and no weekend work required. The role does not involve autopsies, bone marrows, or pap smears. Compensation ranges from $900 to $1,350 per day, depending on experience and availability.
